This was the same night in the MTV store. I'm really on Team Lauren, but somebody had to be Team Heidi for the picture. Sometimes Lauren is kind of bratty, but I'm still on her side. :)
I was lucky to take a couple dance classes at "Steps" on Broadway. One day was a Jazz class and the next day was a Contemporary class. It was so fun! This pic was in the Lincoln Center right after one of the classes. This is obviously where the NYC Ballet is, as well as Juliard and several other artistic buildings. I'm definitely not a ballerina, but I was in a dancing mood.
You can't go to New York and not see at least one Broadway show. We saw "Wicked" and it was absolutely amazing. We also saw "Hairspray," which was good, but not as good as "Wicked."
The fun part was that Ashley Parker Angel (you know, the cute blonde from the boy band O Town who also had a reality show last year), he was Link, the hot boyfriend. We got a picture of him after the show, then I pretended I was on Broadway. That would be a dream come true, if only I could sing.We also went to the Statue of Liberty, where Alli's dance group performed in the rain. In the middle of a dance the entire statue full of people was evacuated and we didn't know why. Kinda scary. While waiting for things to get figured out, everyone was pushed back in between two souvenir shops and guess who walked out... President Uchdorf. It was pretty cool to see him and I actually got to shake his hand. We felt a little better about the bomb scare situation and everything was cleared up shortly.
In between all these events we also went to the top of Rockefeller Center, got a tour of NBC studios where we sat in the Conan O'Brien and SNL studios, went shopping on 5th Avenue, got purses on Canal Street, walked through Central Park, toured the Metropolitan Museum, ate authentic NY pizza and a Falaffle, went to the biggest toy store in the world, rode the subway and a double decker bus, and saw "ground zero" which is now a construction site for new towers. Last, but not least, we got up early to be on the CBS Today Show.
They have stuff there for you to make posters and they make it look like there's a lot more people crowded around (AED is Alli's dance studio). That day Joey Fatone was there talking about his new show so that was cool to see him only a few feet away. Even though my feet hurt every day from walking EVERYWHERE, it was so fun and I will never forget my first trip to NYC!
